Our Committee

Since becoming a constituted group we have taken on some great committee members who volunteer their time and attention into making Girls Allowed a community space.

As a committee we are dedicated to making sure we follow the correct guidelines and reach our long term goals of helping and supporting women in Bristol.

Our team of committee members help with multiple roles to ensure the group runs safely and smoothly for all involved, these roles and tasks include;

- Social media volunteering

- Managing and monitoring the groups funds

- Bringing fresh ideas to the table

- Managing donations for raffle prizes

- Website & email upkeep

- Advertising and marketing

- Managing collaborations with local services and charities

- Helping out at our monthly events

We hold quarterly committee meetings where we are able to communicate freely about our funds and financial reports, how we can improve and acknowledge any concerns or theories brought to our attention, find new ways of supporting women including undergoing training programmes for safeguarding, mental health and domestic abuse awareness and general questions and ideas in regards to how we are running and expanding the group correctly.

Our AGM (Annual General Meeting) is where members of our social media pages and women who attend our monthly events can come along and have their say in regards to how Girls Allowed is ran, how we can change certain aspects of the group and how we can improve. The AGM is also an opportunity for women outside of the committee to put themselves forward for election as a committee member, likewise, this is an opportunity for current committee members to step back from their role.
